I didn't decide to go into teaching until late in my third year of undergrad. I found that I enjoyed sharing my knowledge of history, especially unusual stories, to my friends and family (my father in particular is an avid American Civil War buff). I have a passion for the material which I hope will serve me well as a teacher and will sustain me during the first trying years of teaching.

As a teacher, I hope to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. I want my students to feel that my class is a place where they can participate actively and confidently. I want to use a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and hands-on activities that to enhance learning and to keep my students' attention.
