Examination of Cultural and Artistic Representations of the Triangle Trade and the Middle Passage

If we had developed a third example of a web based inquiry on the cultural and artistic representations of the Triangle Trade and the Middle Passage we would have found approximately six to eight examples of cultural texts such as paintings, sculptures, songs, and film clips for students to analyze using a provided framework. Students would be asked to examine elements like historical accuracy, artistic intent, message, and emotional reactions. Their group project would consist of preparing a presentation explaining how the cultural items expand our collective understanding of the Triangle Trade and the Middle Passage.
